Addiction Conferences by Behavioral Health Network Resources

Addiction conferences preparing drug and alcohol addiction treatment centers for the unprecedented coming changes on unethical marketing practices that have the backing of the governor passed the Florida Senate on May 4, 2017. The bill sponsored by Jeff Clemens, D-Lake Worth is based on the recommendations of State Attorney Dave Aronberg’s Sober Home Task Force, which was charged by the Legislature with studying the recovery industry and crafting regulations. What do treatment centers, and sober home operators need to know, and what they need to know to be prepared are the focus of this Addiction Executive event.

These addiction conferences bring key players that are currently making changes to substance abuse industry marketing and operating regulations with House Bill 807, and 65D30. It will educate industry Executives on the “Need to Know” extreme changes that are coming, encourage getting involved now, being prepared for the changes about to occur, educates on ethical business practices, and connects addiction and behavioral health organizations to establish new and valuable relationships that not only make good business sense, but assist the many seeking treatment.

She was recently a keynote speaker at Bridges of America graduation for women in recovery, gave a “Lunch and Learn’ at Dr. Phillips Hospital and has been featured three times as an expert in relationships and addictions on Dish Network’s Point of View television talk show. While she is new to addiction professional conferences, she provides much-needed treatment not being utilized.

She’s had her own private practice in Orlando for 10 years and has recently authored a book along with a cutting-edge audiovisual format and program to support all types of recovery.

Topic: Sober Homes Task Force: Past, Present, Future

Prior to his selection as Executive Director, Mr. Johnson was a 17 year state prosecutor for the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County. As an Assistant State Attorney Mr. Johnson has tried numerous high profile felony cases and in 2001 became Chief of the Felony Division. In 2005 Mr. Johnson took over the role of Chief Assistant State Attorney until 2009 when he became Senior Counsel for a newly established State Attorney Public Integrity Unit. Mr. Johnson has also served in various capacities as a member and chairman of the Florida Bar Grievance Committee and the Unlicensed Practice of Law Committee as well as regularly serving as a volunteer youth court judge.

Since 2000, Mr. Johnson has been a frequent instructor for the Florida Prosecuting Attorneys Association in areas including ethics for prosecutors, victim rights, homicide prosecution, evidence and jury selection.

Mr. Johnson graduated from Columbia University in 1973 and obtained his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 1976.

Samantha H Clementi, PBSO Deputy Sheriff

Topic: Half Way House Enforcement

Current assignment is the town of Lake Park road patrol with special duties as half way house liaison. She works with the town of Lake Park code enforcement as well as utilizing calls for service in identifying new half way houses in the town.

She was instrumental in the implementation of a mandatory reporting on all calls for service for overdoses and all those involving in identifying half way houses and any abuses. At this time she has identified over 40 single family homes currently being used as half way houses in the 2 and ½ sq. mile town.

Deputy Clementi is working with the SAO task force in identify owners of half way houses that are abusing client’s rights.

Deputy Clementi also works with the homeless population assisting them into treatment. If you want to stop petty crime, and improve the quality of life look to the homeless and assist in their treatment. She offers a new point of view from the trenches to addiction professional events.
